“Starting in 2015, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) imposed a costly new policy on companies that employ H-1B visa holders. A recently filed ITServe Alliance lawsuit spearheaded by the law firm Wasden Banias, which has won several important immigration cases, argues the USCIS policy that requires employers to file amended H-1B petitions when employees work in a new geographic area is unlawful. A new analysis finds the USCIS policy has cost employers more than $3 billion since 2015, an enormous sum, particularly for a measure attorneys believe was imposed illegally.”
