USCIS wasting thousands of green cards as people wait for decades
According to this article on American Bazaar, by Zofeen Maqsood
“Immigration attorney, Greg Siskind asks employment based green card applicants to join lawsuit against USCIS.
The just released USCIS quarterly data for i485 or employment based approvals for October 2020 to March 2021, may give a lot of heartburn to those who are stuck in decades long green card lines.
The immigration agency has only approved 17,896 green cards between January to March 2021, much lower than 27,485 approved in the first quarter of FY 2020-21, according to the data.
While the total number of green cards available for the year 2021, stands at 262,000, going by these figures USCIS may be wasting a considerable number of green cards.”
